This is my first post for M&B and I will try my best to keep the ball rolling. The concept of nail art is not so popular but sure it is a very vast and extensive field from a beautician point of view. Remember that the good looking nails equally reflect a part of your dress up. Many people have begun starting taking this as a career opportunity because it seems a profitable business to them. I think that you will soon find shops making attractive designs on your nails, like today you have tattoo making shops in the market. And I am sure that if you try this art once, you will really enjoy it and you would find yourself lost with this. According to me this art is purely based on ones imagination, and you can therefore design your nails according to what is the need of the hour. The best part of the story is that it is not so much time consuming and also no so costly.

How to do nail art

Different variants of Finger Nail Art Probably the simplest and best-known variant of nail art is the painting of the fingernails with nail polish. The nail is covered with a thin layer of lacquer with the desired color. There are huge amount of coating shades available in the market, so go with the color you prefer the most. I think this form of nail art is tested by most women.

Women now can also grow their nails with UV gel or acrylic. This is also a course covered in the nail art. In stores, many products such as color gel, powder glitter, rhinestones, nail art sticker, shell splinters, nail tattoos, etc. are available to perform this art. How to do nail artImage Source

Some of the nail art accessories are also used in modeling. For example, a Glitter powder is mixed with UV gel and this solution can be used for joining the nail. Other nail art products are placed at the end of modeling. Self-adhesive nail stickers are placed for example at the end of the nail and covered only with a clear lacquer. I recommend that you should use branded UV gel (some branded companies offering UV gel are: EDGE, SHEBA NAILS, KRYSTAL GEL) It is entirely possible to combine different nail art items at a modeling together. In particular, creative and experienced nail designers like to make their use, and let their imaginations run wild. Thus, the fingernails of the individual client seems to look unique and stand out from the masses. For processing of nail art you need only a few standard tools that you should have always at hand. Special thin Nail art brush with very fine quality of hair required, for example these are used in the processing of color gel or paint to draw clean lines and color shading. Here, the use of a so-called spot is recommended to draw swirls. For placement of Nails stickers and rhinestones you need tweezers or a nail design pusher. How to do nail artBefore you start with, I will suggest that you use a good quality nail polish as this would ensure a better look of your nails. Here is a tutorial (an example of nail art). I tried this time with a bluish green-colored nail polish in combination with a purple and pink design. One hundred percent satisfied, I’m still not, but maybe this attempt says yes to one or another of you. Here is a short example to get started with: (Refer the picture given below) How to do nail artImage Source: Abby Walton’s photostream

  1. First of all using Nail Polish remover, remove old nail polish and make sure that the nails are properly cleaned.
  2. Now, apply one thin layer of base coat (it would protect the nails from staining). Leave it to dry. If you think that the base is not strong, then better add one more thin layer over it. But avoid thick layers as it takes a lot of time to dry properly.
  3. Next, apply the base. (According to the photo shown below it is bluish color).
  4. Now use purple color nail polish to make diagonal lines on the nails. (Important: make it sure that the original blue base does not intervene with this color and also see to it that the lines are not too thick. So if you have a nail brush that is not so thin, then better use toothpicks). Now leave it for sufficient time so that it could dry.
  5. Now take purple color nail polish and make dots in between the lines that have drawn already. (Refer picture for more clarity).
  6. Now comes the most important step, the top coat. Not using top coat can completely damage your hard work and the creation. Make it sure that before you apply top coat the initial nail paint is completely dried, otherwise it may intervene with other colors. I suggest that you must wait for atleast half hour before you use top coat.

Hope you enjoy the post but please do it very carefully or you have to repeat the whole procedure again. If you are unable to do such things at home, then its better you go to the professionals. Nail and Nail Arts in Hollow Knight is the primary weapon used by the game’s protagonist, The Knight. It is also seen to be equipped by some enemies, bosses, and NPCs in the kingdom of Hallownest. This page will provide you an overview of the type of Nail that can be upgraded along with Nail Arts that is later on acquired as you progress through the game.

Hollow Knight Nail and Nail Arts

Nail is the primary weapon of The Knight, by default, players will start off with the Old Nail and later can be upgraded into four different tiers by speaking to the Nailsmith in the City of Tears. In doing so, the Nailsmith will require The Knight to provide him with sufficient Geo and Pale Ore in order to upgrade it – this will increase the damage done of melee attacks. With regards to this, certain Charms can also be equipped in order to gradually top-up the overall damage of the Nail.

Nail Arts

Nail Arts are abilities that The Knight can acquire by learning it from Nailmasters. These are abilities that deliver an even stronger attack than the melee attacks dealt by the Nail – depending on the type of Nail Art, some deal with multiple damages, or requires the player to charge the ability in order to deliver a single blow. The damage of the Nail Art also depends on the type of Nail that is equipped or upgraded as well as Charms that can also change certain effects such as damage and charge time.

Hollow Knight Nail

The Nail in Hollow Knight can be upgraded into 4 tiers by approaching the Nailsmith in the City of Tears – sufficient Geo and Pale Ore are needed to acquire the upgraded Nail. Certain Charms can also be equipped in order to strengthen the overall damage of The Nail.

How to do nail art

There are endless possibilities when it comes to decorate your nails, and using foil is one of the latest trends. Using foil on your nails might seem a bit odd, but it is one of the easiest nail art and with time you can perfect your way of applying it. With some simple steps you can achieve a quick and funky nail art. Surprise everyone with your colourful nails after you learn how to do foil nails at home.

  • Nail Polish (similar to the color of the foil)
  • Nail foil
  • Nail glue
  • Cotton bud
  • Tweezer
  • Transparent nail polish for top coat or nail art sealant
  • Nail polish remover

First of all you need to clean your nails. Soak cotton bud in nail polish remover and wipe it over your nails to remove your old nail polish. To do this tutorial you’ll need:

  • Nail polish (similar to the colour of the foil)
  • Nail foil
  • Nail glue
  • Cotton bud
  • Tweezers
  • Transparent nail polish for too coat

Take the foil and cut it into pieces such that each piece is about 1.5 times longer and wider than your nail.

Then take the nail polish of your choice and apply over your nail as a base coat. Let it dry completely.

Some people like to apply nail foil directly over their nails without the base coat. So, it’s completely your choice to follow this step or skip it.

Now take the nail glue in the brush and apply it over the whole nail. Take care that the nail glue covers your whole nail. The layer of nail glue should neither be very thick nor very thin. Wait for a few minutes (approximately 5 minutes or more) so that the glue dries. When the nail glue turns completely transparent this means it has dried.

If you are using a self adhesive foil then you can skip this step.

Now with the help of tweezers carefully pick up a piece of nail foil that you have prepared in step 2 and place it on the nail. Using a cotton swab press it gently over the entire nail. Press it from all corners and edges so that the whole nail is covered. Smooth the foil over the whole nail so that no wrinkles appear when you take off the foil.

You can also use your finger to press the foil instead of the cotton swab.

How to do nail art

Now hold the edge of the foil with a tweezer and slowly pull it off the nail. You should not pull off the foil too fast otherwise it may rip the pattern stuck on your nail along with it.

How to do nail art

Finally finish it off with a top coat with your transparent nail polish or nail art sealant. Choose your top coat with care as some top coats tends to shrink the foil. Let it dry for about 15 minutes so that they are completely dried.

It is advised to wait for another 25 minutes before using your hands for any other activity.

If you don’t like to cover your whole nail with nail foil then you can cut out small patterns like triangles, stars and others and stick it on your nails in the same way.

Second part of the series How To Do Nail Art At Home

Nail art, the practice of painting pretty designs on your fingernails, is a fun way to brighten up your everyday look or accessorize a special occasion outfit. There are a variety of nail art designs available, ranging from subtle and understated to funky and outrageous.

Getting nail art done at a salon can cost you Rs.300 and above depending on the designs. Some people are willing to shell out this much money to prettify their nails but being a student and that too a non earning student I don’t like spending hundreds of rupees on something that will last just 7 days. I’d preferably buy a Colorbar blush (will last me at least 7 months) or a The Body Shop lip balm (will last me for 7 weeks) for 300 bucks rather than getting nail art done on my nails. But I totally love my nails and I like to decorate and prettify them a lot. So rather than going to a nail bar I do nail art on my own. Some people feel they are artistically challenged and have shaky hands and they won’t be able to do it on their own. But I’m telling you it is possible and if you have 20 mins in your hand you will be doing nail art just after reading this post.

You don’t need to buy anything for this tutorial you must be having everything with you already, I’m sure. No need to buy nail art brushes or nail art pens not even dotting tools.

Generally people have problems with nail art that involves drawing lines. So my first nail art post won’t be having any lines at all so that it is easier for everyone to recreate it.

Thing required:

  • 1 base coat
  • 2 different color nail paints, im using yellow and pink
  • 1 top coat
  • 1 toothpick

Step 1: Paint your nails with a base coat. Let it dry.

How to do nail art

Step 2: Now apply 2 coats of whatever nail paint color you like.

How to do nail art

Step 3: Taking a contrasting color, draw 5 dots on the upper corner of your nail as show in the pic. Take a small drop of nail paint on a paper and dip the opposite end of the toothpick in the paint to get a little paint on it. Don’t overload it. Start making the dots from the outer edge of your nails. Because if you start from the inner side sometimes due to misjudgment there is no place left for the dot at outer edge. Don’t do it on all the nails do this on one nail and jump to step 4.

Step 4: Taking the pointed side of the toothpick from the center of each dot drag the toothpick towards the center of the dots you made. Don’t worry if in the process you drag even the base coat with it.

Repeat step 3 and 4 for all the remaining nails one by one. Now if you want you can stop at this only.

Step5: Now taking the pointed edge of the nail paint draw small dots on the opposite side of the flower.

I did my thumb differently, to show you a variation. You can make 2 flowers like this. Or you can do your thumb and ring finger alike and the rest 3 alike. I do that some times.

Ta da.. wasn’t it easy.. im sure you will will be able to recreate this for yourself. Any queries and questions are always welcome . 🙂

Some tips on nail art:

1. You can make a lot of designs just with the help of dots. You just have to be creative enough or you need to know how to use google.
2. Keep cleaning your toothpick with a piece of paper every now and then so that the nail paint doesn’t dry on it and makes a little goopy kind of deposit there. The deposit leads to uneven dots.
3. Use paper and not cotton or tissue because the lint in both would get stuck to it.
4. Before the top coat make sure that the nail art has dried completely.

I don’t know whether you people would like the post or not, but I’m sure you will like that I did something else than a fitness posts 😉

The closure of salons during the Covid-19 pandemic has led many people to try their hand at nail art. It’s a creative, artistic hobby that requires minimal equipment and it also looks great. Here, the founder of Shoreditch Nails takes us through a tutorial for mastering at-home nail art.

Welcome to The Curiosity Academy, Stylist’s new learning hub where you can access workshops, how-to guides, new research and learn the most up-to-date skills from the UK’s most in-the-know people.

Nail art has become a huge trend in recent years and it’s one that continues to grow. Most people, however, still rely on their trusty nail technicians to create intricate designs we’ve become accustomed to. You might be surprised, then, to find out that doing nail art yourself at home isn’t as difficult as it looks.

It’s something that many people have begun experimenting with over the past year with the frequent closure of nail salons. And, conveniently, you only need a few basic tools to start out.

Tina Michael, the founder of Shoreditch Nails, has some tips on how to achieve flawless nail art designs at home including the equipment you need, how to improve your technique and some design ideas.

Start small with core products

Don’t invest in a full collection of nail polishes and tools before you are sure that nail art at home is something you enjoy. Tina suggests starting off with between two and five polishes, “A good core collection to have at home would be a nude, a black and two or three of your favourite colours.”

It is easier to do nail art with gel polish as you can set each layer which can help you avoid smudges and improve the longevity of your manicure, Tina explains. For this, you will need a gel lamp and Tina recommends the SUNUV Lamp.

In terms of tools, the manicurists at Shoreditch Nails use dotting tools (thin metal pen tools) and striper bushes, which resemble tiny paintbrushes. You can invest in these tools but Tina also suggests some less expensive alternatives to the professional kit, “If you have a bobby pin, that works as a dotting tool and a toothpick can replace a striper brush.”

Top and base coats are essential

Nail art can take much longer than a simple coat of polish so it would be a shame if it was to chip soon after application. Tina stresses the importance of using a top and base coat to protect your nails and prolong the design.

“Use a quick drying top coat, especially when doing nail art,” she recommends. “And remember to wait between five and ten minutes before applying your top coat so you don’t smudge your design.”

Invest in clean-up tools

As a beginner, you are bound to make mistakes when experimenting with nail art at home so tools that will help you correct your mistakes without having to start over will be essential to ensure the process isn’t overly-frustrating.

“At our salons and academy, we use a clean-up brush that looks like an eyeshadow brush and nail polish remover,” Tina explains. “You can also use a wood stick dipped in nail polish remover.”

Tina says that you should avoid using cotton to clean up your nail art because the cotton fibres can stick to the polish and ruin your design. She also advises against over-using clean up tools because having a perfectionist mindset towards doing nail art can become frustrating.

Practice makes perfect

There’s no real trick to mastering nail art, Tina says – it’s all about practice. “In the salon, we use plastic fake nails to practice which can work, especially if you position them as though you are doing your own nails.”

Tina explains that doing nail art on your own nails can be particularly difficult, though. “Even we still struggle doing nail art on ourselves with our non-primary hands,” she says, explaining that the only way to overcome this is practice. If you have a particularly shaky hand, you should lay your hand across a surface and use your other hand to help steady yourself.

If you live with someone who is willing to let you practice nail art on them, this is a good idea, as doing nail art on other people is much easier than doing it on yourself.

Follow salons and nail techs online for inspiration

If art and design does not come naturally to you, you may struggle to come up with ideas for your nail art. Luckily, there are thousands of nail art experts on Instagram who can provide you with ideas.

They can also help you with your technique as salons like Shoreditch Nails create how-to Reels and IGTVs with easy-to-follow instructions on how to create new designs. Shoreditch Nails have also launchd an online academy where you can learn how to improve your nail art skills in more depth with video tutorials and a starter kit.

When it comes to nail art, I suck. Badly. Unfortunately, I have this strong desire to have artsy, flashy nails. But I’m cheap, so I don’t want to *pay* to have them look good. I want to do it myself and save my money for things like lipgloss, chocolate and travel.

The problem though is that when you’re a FAILURE at nail art, it makes life a wee bit difficult on the nail front. I don’t quite know what to do yet, but I feel like I’m making headway on what *NOT* to do and that has to count for something, right? Right? Anybody?

I present to you the travesty that was supposed to be Batman inspired nails.

How to do nail artNo, the photo isn’t blurry, it’s just my terrible “art”

First off, if you have a theme, use the right colors. Being extra cheap and using colors you already have when they don’t fit the color scheme at all is probably not going to work. For instance, if you’re supposed to use black, yellow and silver, replacing it with glittery grey, neon orange, and a confetti topcoat is more likely to make people (and yourself!) say WTF. With feeling.

(Side note: My boyfriend said my nails were like the Joker’s version of Batman. I’m sitting there wandering if this excuses the blasphemy on my nails. I’m thinking no, it does not. Sad Face.)

Secondly, make sure you have the right tools for this kind of thing. Cutting a used nail polish brush in half will not create a fine enough drawing tool. It may seem like a genius idea but it will. not. work. Just saying.

Thirdly, if you try something freaking difficult like writing “BATMAN” and drawing a Batman logo on your fingernails when you *know* you are terrible is a horrendous idea. My finger literally says “BATMA” and my bat signal is a little crippled in its wing area.

One thing I did end up liking about this though? I think using that confetti topcoat as a take on a French manicure is kind of cool looking. I dig it, but maybe with different colors.

In case you are curious, all of the nail polishes used were Deborah Lippmann. The shades are “Black Magic Woman”, “Hot Child in the City”, and “Happy Birthday“.

Well groomed nails not only enhance beauty but also cast an impression about your personality. Ditching the age-old single color nail polishes, women are drawing towards intricate nail art designs. Nail art is nothing but an artistic drawing of designs and pictures painted on the nails. The main nail art categories are freehand nail art, air brushing nail art, stripes nail art, water marble nail art, glitter nail art, jewel nail art and color bending nail art.

Special tools are available in the market to make the designing part a little easier. Using these tools you can draw the designs on the nails on your own. Also, you can fix an artificial nail with an art design already drawn on it. Although this looks pretty simple but the artificial nails, if fixed at home, do not last long and if you get it done at the nail salons they charge hefty be it artificial nail fixation or regular nail art.

To save all that money I have created a new category: Nail art :-), wherein I will share easy-to-do nail art tutorials to decorate your nails at home. The prerequisites of a spotless nail art are clean and well-shaped nails.

Required Tools

1) Base nail paint.

2) Colored nails paint according to nail art design.

3) A pair of scissors.

5) A pair of tweezers.

6) Top nail paint.

Step 2 – Choose the base color and apply 2 smooth coats on the nails. Make sure that you choose fresh nail paints; fresh nail paints result in a fine appearance. Let the nail paint dry before you go to step3.

Step 3 – Take cello tape and cut it according to your nail art design. For my nail art design I have cut the cello tape vertically. Before pasting the cello tape on your nails place it first on palm and press hard. This will reduce the stickiness and save any chipping off of base color.

Step 1: Look 1: Reverse French Manicure

Firstly, apply the guide at the base of the nail, on the nail moon. Apply the nail color to the whole nail above the guide.

Carefully remove the guide. Let the polish dry and seal with a clear topcoat.

Step 2: Look 2: Glitter French Manicure

A glitter french manicure is similar to a traditional french manicure, but it has a glitter tip rather than a white one.

Firstly, apply the guide to the tip of the nail. Apply the base coat and sprinkle on the glitter before the base coat dries.

Let the glitter set in the base coat, before lifting off the nail guide. Apply the nail color over the top.

Seal the color with a topcoat – we recommend HAN wraps which are thick and will seal the glitter well.

However, to learn how to do nail art designs for beginners at home by nail art school in tokyo japan, we have come up with simple yet elegant DIYs to give your nails that Oomph effect:

  1. Start off by applying a base coat to your nails. If you want to design a swirl on your nails, take any two different color polishes; however, make sure one is darker, and the other is a tad lighter.
  2. Apply one layer of the light color, let it dry and then apply the second layer. Right after you have applied the second layer, apply some spot of the darker color nail paint and then apply a bit of more spots with the lighter pin paint as well.
  3. Take your toothpick and carefully, swirl the colors together. Make sure not to press down too firmly or else you’ll end up having scratches in the design.

Next up is the rose design nail art. Girls love roses, they live for roses, and there are tons of women out there who want to do a rose pin art on their own but don’t know how?

Let us show you how:

  1. For starters, you’d need a pastel yellow, pink, red and green nail polish. Apply the yellow nail paint as the base color and take the pink polish to kind of dab a few spots on the pin for the roses.
  2. After the nails are dry, use your toothpick, dunk the tip of the toothpick to the red polish and partially outline each rose. It’s completely fine if it doesn’t come out perfect, so don’t worry about the super straight line.
  3. Once it’s done dry, apply a couple of swirled lines in the middle of the rose for the petals and again, try not to press too firmly; this is a trick to work with a toothpick, you just want to slide the polish along.
  4. Now take the green nail polish and design leaves to each rose and let it dry. And voila! You’re done!

Here’s a step by step guide to creating your very own nail art at home

Nail art seems difficult for a lot of us. The intricate detail and the designs can be a little intimidating, but it is nothing some guidance and a little determination cannot achieve. Here’s a step by step guide to creating your very own nail art!

1. Equip yourself

Before you begin, get a few things in your kitty. It’s important to be prepared before you decide to start. It’s no big deal, all you need is-

  1. a bottle of nail polish remover,
  2. a nail file,
  3. a nail buffer (ideally get one of those which buffs and files),
  4. a cuticle remover,
  5. cuticle cream,
  6. some thin brushes (don’t sweat about this one, you could make do with a bobby pin),
  7. some cute stickers,
  8. a nail gel/glue,
  9. tweezers,
  10. earbuds,
  11. and a few nail colors of your choice. how to do nail art at home 002

Surf the net or look up nail art on our own site for the design of your choice! If this is the first time that you are attempting to create nail art, be sure to keep it simple. Even if the design looks simple, it’s important to get it right. There’s no point picking a design that you could fudge, is there? Just go for some cute stickers, or a simple polka dots design for your nails. Simple designs are easier to achieve and it’s less likely that you will get them wrong. how to do nail art at home 003

3. Start with a clean canvas

Even if you aren’t wearing a nail polish, rub your nails with nail polish remover to take out any dirt or any remnants of previous nail polish. While you are at it, give them a soak in warm water and a scrub with a brush. If you have a cuticle problem, apply some cuticle cream on your moist nails and let it moisturize the cuticles. Then, use a cuticle remover to neatly, but gently remove the cuticles. This may be tricky if you are not used to it, so you could get someone else to help you out. how to do nail art at home 005

4. Shape

The key to a perfect nail art design, is a good looking shape. Ideally, the shape of your nail should mimic the shape of you nail bed. So if you nail bed is round, go ahead and file for those perfect round edges. A simple trick to get the perfect round shape is to cut the side of nails diagonally, so it is just a matter of filing out the pointy ends. The effect is much smoother and better looking. You could also go for a square base with a round edges on the top, which is better than totally square nails because it has much lesser chances of chipping. Pointy edges were never the original body type, for a reason. how to do nail art at home 006

5. Protect the skin around your nails

Before you get started with the nail art designs, just put some tape on either side of your nail and at the bottom. If you have no tape at hand, or if this seems like too much effort, simply opt for petroleum jelly. This keeps the nail polish from adhering to the sides of the nails as creating nail art can be a messy job. how to do nail art at home 007

6. Begin with a base coat

Start with a base coat. This preps your nails for the nail color and helps keep it even. It protects your nail from the chemicals in the nail color, so that when you take it off your nails don’t look yellow. Find a base nail color that has hardening, strengthening properties so that while you are creating your nail art, your nails get nourished as well. If that is not reason enough, a base coat also helps keep your nail polish on for longer, which means your nail art will stay intact for a longer time! So no excuses, don’t skip it. how to do nail art at home 008

7. Apply the nail colour of your choice

Now, here is where we are all comfortable. Take the nail color for the design that you have chosen to replicate and apply two generous coats of it. Always start at the center of the nails and fill in the sides. Two coats of nail polish are better than one because that will ensure that your nail color lasts for a longer time. It also gives you a thicker base to play with. But before you go ahead, ensure that your nails are totally dry. how to do nail art at home 009

It’s finally time for the fun bit. If you have chosen to apply stickers, bring out your nail gel or nail glue. Apply a small amount of nail gel on the back of the sticker, or if the surface is not much then apply it on the nail itself. Then, using your tweezers carefully place the sticker on the nail. If the gel is oozing, press the sticker down with an ear-bud and use it to wipe away the excess glue. The important thing to remember is to be extremely gentle and still. A small wrong movement can easily ruin your design. how to do nail art at home 011

If you have decided to go for the polka dots design, then pick up your dotting brushes (the thin ones) or your bobby pins. Dip it in the nail colour which you have chosen for the dots and gently apply it on your nail. Remember to take small amounts of nail colour as it can easily be increased if required, but decreasing it requires special effort. You can use different colours to give this nail art designs a funkier, cooler looks.

Now all that remains is for you to click a picture and show us how it turned out!

I am an apprentice in a natural nail salon. Sometimes I get requests for nail art. I would love to learn how to do different nail designs, but I am a beginner. I live in Virginia and there are never nail seminars or lectures or even hands-on classes here. Do you have any suggestions on learning nail art designs when there is no one in my area to teach it? Watching videos is good but sometimes you just need hands-on.

Answer

There are very few people that last 25 years in this business like I have, and I do not believe you need hands-on instruction to learn nail art. I have only had one three-minute hands-on experience (when I was being led through the nail school I was about to join), and the only thing it did for me was spark my desire to go to school.

I do believe you need to have two things as an apprentice: determination and desire. Determination will keep you up until 3 a.m. practicing your designs, and the desire to be a great nail tech will keep you going. I have taught hands-on classes for many years. I have done tutorials for YouTube for 2.5 years. Being a teacher in both mediums, I will say that I cannot answer how badly the nail tech wants to succeed but how badly she wants it is exactly how good she will get.

Instruction is available online free everywhere you turn and trial and error will have to pave the way for your future. A lot of people cannot handle this and quit the first year of doing nails. I am doing all I can and giving all I can so quitting doesn’t happen, and women who have no money for hands-on courses can still succeed.

I cannot tell you how many nights I was up learning how to make a perfect French manicure or trying to perfect a striping brush technique, but I will say that in the end, it was worth it.

Before starting on your ombre design, apply a layer of gloss or hardener to your nails. This step is key to protecting your nails and getting the final design to remain intact for longer.

How to do nail art

Now, it’s time to choose shades of nail polish that you like to create the ombre effect. Ideally, choose two or three shades of the same color range so that they match well, but you can try completely different colors too. We have chosen three shades of green. Grab a make-up sponge and fill a bowl with a little water. Place the sponge in the bowl and squeeze it to remove excess water. The key is that the sponge is moist and not wet. Now, on the sponge, draw a horizontal stroke in each of your chosen nail polishes.

How to do nail art

For the ombre to stand out on your nails, move the sponge from right to left or vice versa, lightly dabbing it. If you want to give more intensity to the colours, try dabbing the sponge on your nails again, making sure you are using the same amount of paint for each section.

How to do nail art

Finally, when it has dried, apply a light coat of gloss or hardener to seal the design and give a smooth texture. And you’re ready! In a few minutes you will have beautiful and original ombre nails. Be bold and try the design with different colors.

How to do nail art

To use nail art stencils, nails must be properly prepared and polished beforehand and cared for after application. Once the base color has set, you can begin to use the stencils by laying the stencil on the nail in the position and angle you’d like and holding it flat against the nail. You can then use other colors to paint in the open area of the stencil. If the stencil is one which sticks to the nail, it is best to allow the nail polish to sit for a few minutes before attempting to remove it. Using nail art stencils is relatively easy and simply requires some time and the right supplies.

You first may need to remove all of the old polish with nail polish remover and then use an orange stick to push back the cuticles before using nail art stencils. Some individuals prefer to also buff the surface of the nail lightly to get a nice, flat surface. A base coat of nail polish should be used prior to applying your base color polish, and then a top coat should be used once you’ve completed the design and it’s dried. The top coat of polish prevents the design from chipping or rubbing away, and proper nail care such as filing should be practiced to keep nails healthy.

Allow at least thirty minutes for the base color to dry once you’ve applied it. If using a clear base coat, it should be allowed to set for about 10 to 15 minutes before applying the base color. If the base color has not had enough time to dry, it may smudge or even lift when you begin to use the nail art stencils.

These nail art stencils can be made of many types of materials and come in thousands of shapes—some of these are one-time use and others allow multiple uses. Stencil designs can be used in nearly endless combinations, and you can even layer the designs on top of each other to get new looks. Simply allow each layer to dry before adding another and these designs should last nine to 12 days. It is possible to even make your own designs using wax paper or tape, allowing for even more creativity.

Now, draw your nails on the sheet with a pencil. You have to show your drawing capabilities and make the drawings of your nails as exact as possible. It will give you an idea about making the right designs that fit perfectly into your nails.

Note: It is better to use a pencil so that you can erase if needed.

Pick a marker and draw your favorite designs onto the nails’ shapes. You can make anything that you like flowers, stars, symbols etc.

Note: Try to draw something simple. Complex images are hard to be sketched on a paper of nail size. Therefore, it is better to draw simple and small designs for a neat and clean look. Secondly, if you are not good in drawing, then take advantage of the easily available craft shaped hole punch to get unique nail designs.

Hold a craft or utility knife in one hand and one of the shapes of nails in the other. Now, carefully cut all around the edge of the nail design. Repeat this simple procedure with the remaining nail stencils.

Once you cut all the nail stencils, pick each of the nail stencil with a pair of tweezers and place them in the center of the specific nails. Apply a top coat nail polish to fix the stencil in one position. Enjoy amazing nail stencils.
