Published blogs number in the hundreds of millions, so how do you find the jewels in such a deep base of information? If you have a favorite topic — gardening, art, tech, business, or whatever — you can do a basic web search using a blog-specific search engine such as BlogSearchEngine.org. It looks and acts remarkably like the Google search screen you are familiar with, but it returns only blog sites. Just enter your topic and select from the results.
If you don’t have a specific topic or if you’d like to scroll through a group of blogs on a related subject, a blog directory is the best way to go. Blog directories are repositories for blog posts with links to the sites of the blogs themselves if you want to look further. They are categorized by topics and are searchable.
Blog directories come and go, but the ones listed here have stood the test of time. Any of them can lead you to a blog on precisely the topic you seek.
Blogarama: The Oldest Blog Directory
Blogarama is the oldest of the active blog directories. Its home screen is a treasure trove of interesting and informative featured blog posts that are fun to scroll through, but Blogarama doesn’t stop there. It categorizes its more than 140,000 active blog listings in 24 main categories that include Finance, Technology, Life, and Home & Garden. If 24 categories aren’t enough for you, each of the main categories is broken into smaller subcategories. If you know what you want, you can always go straight to your topic by typing it in the search field.

One of the toughest things to do online is find relevant blogs to follow and subscribe to. Sure a Google search helps, but often Google results are simply creative marketers promoting something of no quality.
And once you find the blog, figuring out how to follow it can be a task too.
I ran across a really great tool called RSS Search Engine that makes finding and following blogs super simple.
Basically you can do a search on any topic, niche or keyword and it will spit back links to (1) the actual blog, and (2) an RSS feed you can use to subscribe to the blog!
As you can see in the image above you can go directly to some of their sample queries to find popular blogs. Or you can do your own search. You can also do advanced searches if you’re so inclined.

So let’s say your niche is “auto shipping”. Just add that term and hit search, like this:
What happens next is pure magic and genius!
The site kicks back a list of results and gives you a link to the blogs, the rss feeds and a simple way to “Subscribe” to the blogs:
Here’s the really cool part. When you hover over the word “Subscribe” a box appears listing all of the various ways you can subscribe to the blog. I prefer Google Reader, but you may prefer another service:
Once you click on one of those links a separate tab will open allowing you to subscribe to the blog on the platform you choose.
You can also click on the “Show Feed” link below each blog listed and see a recap of their latest posts — to decide if you want to subscribe or not.
It only seems to show 10 results per search, so it’s not an endless and all encompassing search result. But. this is one of the quickest and easiest ways I’ve found to find and follow blogs.

You’ll only be able to see contacts if the website owner hasn’t hidden them on purpose. Otherwise, Whois shows website hosting companies as well, so you can send a request to their address.
Search on Google
Another simple yet efficient way to find contacts is through Google. Just enter “contact site: domain.com” and let the search engine do the rest.
Try email finders
These tools help find email addresses of people or companies. For example, Snov.io is a Chrome extension that collects data from the internet and provides emails, names and jobs of the website owners you’re interested in. Then, it screens for valid addresses and allows you to launch email campaigns and check whether your messages have been opened.
Hunter allows you to find contact information with the help of a domain name, containing over 200 million email addresses in its database. Contacts+ is another online platform that looks up contacts and checks their accuracy as well as eliminates duplicates. Anymail Finder allows you to find and verify email addresses of employees from any company.
Use blogger outreach tools

- Need to find bloggers on Facebook? Type in relevant keywords in the search box on Facebook. You’ll see both influencers and communities, and Facebook allows you to contact them directly.
- Need to find bloggers onInstagram? The best way is to search with relevant hashtags. For example, type in #traveler to find travel and lifestyle influencers.
When you identify relevant bloggers, look through their subscriptions to find more opportunities. Networking on Instagram is a common thing. If you’re wondering how to find bloggers in your area, add a location hashtag, e.g. #NewYork or #NY, etc.

We don’t want to encourage you to be a copy cat, but you can find relevant bloggers by looking at domains linking to your competitor’s website. Moz Open Site Explorer and Ahrefs let you explore any domain for referring links and inbound domains. Thereby you can find bloggers that have linked to your competitors, which might also be relevant for you.
5. Google Analytics
There are times when relevant bloggers simply find your products and blog about them. You can figure out who linked to your site by monitoring your referral traffic in Google Analytics. Like Twitter, Follwerwonk allows you to search for keywords in Twitter profiles and bios. The major advantage of a search in Followerwonk is that you can sort the results by number of followers or social authority, which means you don’t have to look through all the profiles individually.
Stumbleupon lets you find good content based on a certain topic. It’s a good and fun way to find relevant blogs for your product.
Wefollow allows you to search prominent people based on a certain keyword. You can refine the search by adding a location and limiting the prominence score to a certain level. Also the site suggests related keywords that you can search for.
Video content is gaining increasing popularity among bloggers and their followers. Youtube largest video platform is a good resource to search for vlogs or videos by bloggers. You can search for channels or videos. The sort options enables you to list the most popular entries first. A downside to this is that you cannot look for location based results.

You can also get could results from performing a Google Custom Search, by searching the *blogspot.com subdomain on Google. If you wanted to search for a travel site on Blogspot, all you have to do is go to the Google search bar, and enter:
Google has many custom search formulas that will allow you to narrow your results. This includes narrowing you search by site.
The results will bring up a wide variety of Blogspot blogs related to travel, from “The Travel Photographer” and “Haute Travels” to “Travel Writers,” and much more.
This is my personal favorite method of searching for a Blogspot blog on a particular topic because I think it’s the easiest. However, you need to keep in mind that a Google custom search will show you the search results based on relevancy, according to Google so lesser known, low traffic or new blogs on the topic won’t come up in immediate searches. You might have to go through several pages of results before you find these. When you need to find the top blogs on a specific topic, this is going to be your best and easiest way.
Blogger forums often connect Blogspot Bloggers with other users with similar interests, and can be very useful to join. Google’s official Bloger forum is one popular choice that allows you to search for certain parameters or just use the forums to converse with people who share common interests. They also have help forums for managing your blog, marketing your blog, design and coding and more. This site has a wealth of information on blogging in general from experts in all areas.
Facebook is a great avenue to find Blogspot bloggers and their blogs. There is a Facebook page dedicated to Blogger with over 43,000 “likes” currently. Because there are also Facebook apps that allow you to add your FB page to your blog, share your posts to your FB automatically and more, this can be a good place to find blogs.
If you have a large network, try posting a request for friends to share their favorite blogspot blog on a particular subject. You may be surprised how many chime in.
Search the world “Blogspot” on Twitter and a large number of Blogspot blogs show up in the results; from blogs about gamers to romance, beauty and books, you’re likely to find what you’re looking for there. You can also ask your Twitter followers to suggest Blogspot blogs on a specific topic but be prepared to do a lot of sifting through the results if you use this method.
You might also open the door to spammers and self-promoters so not all of the results you get may be relevant. You’ll have to manually filter them to pull out the viable options. Still, my Twitter network has really come through for me before when I used this option.
Mix offers a search engine to look for all Blogspot content as well as other users who follow Blogspot. It’s quick and easy and one of my new preferred methods for finding specific bloggers. You can also check out the Blogspot category and find bloggers that you may have never found otherwise.
With these methods, you will have no trouble finding a blog on Blogspot. If one method doesn’t work, you can always try another until you get just what you’re looking for. If you’re just starting out or have encountered a slump in your networking activities, try using a different method and making at least one strong connection each day.

A blog is your personal online journal. Each blog entry you make can include any combination of text, images, links, multimedia, mashups, and attachments. Blogs are an effective way for you to share knowledge and materials created and collected in the course. You can post entries and add comments to existing blogs. Use your blog to express your ideas and share them with the class.
As the owner of a blog, you can create entries and your instructor and classmates can add comments. A course or a group can also own a blog. In the group area, all members of a group can create entries for the same blog, building upon one another. Any course member can read and comment on a group blog, but can’t create an entry if the user isn’t a member of the group. Your instructor can also offer comments and grade entries.
If your institution uses avatars or Blackboard profiles, your chosen image appears with your blog.
Where to find blogs
You can find blogs on the course menu or on the Tools page. On the blogs listing page, select the blog topic that you want to read from the alphabetical list.
You can access three types of blogs:
- Course : All enrolled users can create blog entries and add comments to entries.
- Individual : Only the owner of a blog can create blog entries. All other enrolled users can view entries and add comments.
- Group : If your instructor enables the blogs tool for a group, all group members can create blog entries and make comments. All course members can view group blogs, but they only have the option to add comments. You can add entries only to your own group blog.
Your instructor can edit and delete entries in all three blog types and delete user comments.
Blog topic page
The blog topic page is divided into two main sections: the content frame and the sidebar.
- Select Create Blog Entry to create as many blog entries as you want. Select View Drafts to see unpublished entries. Expand the Blog Instructions section to review the blog instructions and any goals your instructor may have aligned with the blog.
- In the sidebar, expand the Blog Details section to view the blog information, including if comments were made. Expand the section to view a list of who else has made blog entries.
- Select a name to view the entries. The Grade section appears if your instructor enabled grading for the blog. You can see if your blog entries have been graded.
- Comments show who has added thoughts to the post. Select Index to view the titles of your selected entries for either the week or the month, based on the settings your instructor makes during blog creation. The most recent entry title appears first.
Create a blog entry
Only your instructor can create a blog. After the blog is created, you can create blog entries.
- On the Blogs listing page, select a blog title.
- On the blog’s topic page, select Create Blog Entry .
- Type a title and entry.
- If enabled and appropriate, select the check box for Post Entry as Anonymous .
- Select Browse My Computer to upload a file from your computer. You can also attach a file from the repository: Course Files or the Content Collection.
Drag files from your computer to the “hot spot” in the Attach Files area. If your browser allows, you can also drag a folder of files. The files will upload individually. If the browser doesn’t allow you to submit your assignment after you upload a folder, select Do not attach in the folder’s row to remove it. You can drag the files individually and submit again.
You won’t be able to drag files to upload if your institution uses an older version of Blackboard Learn.
You can use the file name or provide another name for the file.

View blog drafts
If you saved a blog entry to edit later, select View Drafts on the blog topic page. Select the title of the entry to edit and post.
Comment on a blog entry
You can comment on one another’s blog entries, whether they belong to an individual, the course, or a group. Your instructor determines if you can make anonymous comments and if you may delete blog comments.
On the blog’s topic page, select a user’s name in the sidebar to view a blog. The user’s blog entries open in the content frame. Select Comment to add your thoughts.
Edit or delete a blog entry
Your instructor determines if you’re allowed to edit or delete your blog entries. On the blog’s topic page, access the entry’s menu and select Edit or Delete . Deleting a blog entry is final and irreversible.
View blog grades
After your instructor grades your blog entries, you can view your grade in two places. The grading information appears in the Grade section on the blog’s topic page and in My Grades . You can also view your instructor’s feedback and the date the grade was assigned. To learn more, see Grades.
If your instructor associated a rubric with the blog and made it available, select View Rubric in the Grade section to display grading criteria.
